The Winery of Good Hope is based 30 miles east of Cape Town in the Stellenbosch region of South Africa, one of the most important wine producing areas in the Western Cape province. Here the vines are grown on well drained alluvial soils on hilly terrain with most vineyards lying at an elevation of about 100 metres in a sheltered valley. The vines also benefit from a Mediterranean climate with warm and dry growing seasons that are favourable in the production of high quality wines. The grapes for this vibrant and refreshing Chenin Blanc come from old bush vines situated in the Helderberg area and all the fruit is hand-picked and sorted before fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is kept on its lees for 9 months before bottling ensuring a wine packed with natural minerality and a brisk acidity.
