Glenfiddich Gran Cru 23 years old (Gran Cru) – 75cl is a single malt scotch whisky stored in a combination of both American & European oak casts. A 23 years old matured in American bourbon, Portuguese sherry and virgin oak. The whisky was then married in a Solera vat. This is a great staple 23 year old from the Glenfiddich distillery. It is stored in these oak casks for 23 years which gives it a uniqueness in taste and elegance in blend. Great gift bottle idea. The term “single malt whiskey” refers to a whiskey that is produced by a single distillery using a single malted grain, which is typically barley. Single malts are most famous among Scotch whisky, though they can be produced anywhere in the world. Ireland, Japan, America, Canada, and other countries produce great single malts as well.
A rare and aged single malt Scotch whisky that has spent 23 long years carefully maturing in American Oak ex-bourbon casks. This expression was created to honour Glenfiddich’s line of continuous family ownership since William Grant founded our distillery in 1887. The rum-soaked cask infuses the aged whisky with a spicy warmth and indulgent vanilla and toffee sweetness, the character of the Caribbean shining through. This gives this whisky a sumptuous sweet intensity that is both rich and creamy yet still retains the unmistakable character of Glenfiddich. (23 years Old, 40%)
It has a vibrant yet soft and delicate expression, with a deep and complex balance of sweetness and dry oak tannin. Bound to excite the palate and awaken the nose.
