In 1897, Bodega Antigal was founded on the site of an old winery in Russell, Maipú, Mendoza. In 2000, with the completion of its renovation, Antigal achieved the highest level of excellence in its field, while maintaining the original appearance of its winery. In 2005, the first signature wine from a single vineyard was released. An event was held to celebrate the first vintage, and to make it special, the number “1” was cut out of the metal hoops of the barrels and placed on the label of the wine. In 2007, the company began exporting wine, mainly to the American market, quickly becoming a nationally recognized brand of quality from Argentina, with its inimitable wine from the main variety of Mendoza, Malbec, and the characteristic number “1” on the label. Very soon, already in 2011, UNO Malbec received its first recognition from the prestigious American magazine Wine Enthusiast, earning a high rating of 90 points out of a possible 100. Today, Antigal is recognized worldwide for its high quality, its wines are sold in America, Europe and Asia and are in great demand among consumers around the world.
The vineyards of Bodega Antigal are located in the Mendoza region, in the Uco and Maipú valleys. The altitude of the vineyards reaches 1,150 meters above sea level, which allows the grapes to ripen for a long time, acquiring the necessary flavors and aromas, while maintaining the balance of acidity. Irrigation of the vineyards is carried out by drip irrigation, using pure melted snow from the Andes mountain peaks.
In 2021 and 2023, the influential Wine Enthusiast magazine named Antigal “New World Winery of the Year”!!
