Owned by Dourthe Vineyards since 1990, this 200-hectare estate produces fine wines in the Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur appellations. Formerly called Clos de la Tour, this property is said to have changed its name at the kind suggestion of a famous Premier Grand Cru Classé. It benefits from the expertise of the teams led by Patrick Jestin, president of Vins et Vignobles Dourthe, a house belonging to the Alain Thiénot Champagne family group. The estate’s 2010 reserve cuvée offers aromas of black cherries, roasted coffee, elegant oak, a fleshy palate, freshness, and well-rounded tannins. A lovely bottle at a very attractive price. Open one hour before enjoying it with a nice piece of grilled red meat.
CHATEAU PEY LA TOUR RESERVE – BORDEAUX SUPERIEUR
RM137.00
Deep ruby in colour with flashes of purple. On the bouquet, intense, ripe, black fruit aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry preside, interweaved with oaky notes. The wine is full-bodied, fleshy and complex on the palate, where notes of kirsch echo the bouquet. Well-integrated tannins complement the rich structure and reveal their true glory in a wondrous finish.
Eat with red or white meat, pasta and mature cheese.
